I'm sure this is not negative feedback / sulking, and that surely you've taken into account your discount factor to justify waiting until tomorrow or monday or friday to make things happen. Of course, perhaps you are already manhunting at maximum capability.
But, as far as substitutions go... I approve :)
Why would you need a boy and a horse around to play catch?
Ed, horses can't catch very well so you need to boy to cover for it.
If the boys knew what was likely to happen if you DID catch them, maybe they'd be more likely to play ball!
