Philadelphia Wed night
Hey y'all,
You guys up for a potluck? Dubin says we can gather on her beautiful porch. That sounds perfect to me, so I hope you guys will come over. I'll make some food, too.
Email, please, to let me know you'll be there. I'll know from your grammar and punctuation that you are not a crazy person, and send you the address.
Looking forward to it!

Does that mean that we *should* use that weird cat-talk thing everyone is doing or not?
I'm still not entirely up on the cat-talk joke actually. Can anyone explain it?
O hai, this is Doobin. Ur komin 2 mai potluck, evry1.
Megan,
Micah and I are going to Dairy Day at Frying Pan Park Farm on Saturday morning. Maybe going to a preserved farm isn't why you're coming to the DC area. But if it sounds exactly like something you'd want to do in the DC area, email me and we'll arrange a time to pick you up at the Metro. (Orange line, Vienna station, probably 9:30ish)
Dairy Day: "Milk cows and goats, and taste different types of dairy products. Churn butter, enjoy hands-on farm activities and see other farm demonstrations"

This has nothing to do with Philly or DC, but I thought you'd like it.

You didn't have to wash the dishes, you know. I didn't even feed you!
Sorry I didn't get your message for a few days, but I wasn't going to get home until after 9 either way.

But hon, it was an easy way to be grateful for your hospitality and apologize for my late arrival.
anon: that IS neato. The Johnny Appleseed analogy is a little dicey, though. The real Johnny Appleseed was a shady character who was planting apples for cider, speculating on land deals and coveting very young girls. But the bike is awesome.
T_N, I'm sorry I missed you.
That's okay, we were still able to pet the goats in your absence.

It's cheating to leave this comment on this post, but:
I'll miss you, Megan. I was never a regular commenter here, but I've been a religious reader for a year or so. I won't bother complimenting you - I recall the old rules - so I'll just tell you that I was sad seeing your previous subhead (the "Saying her goodbyes..." one), but downright verklempt at "Cerrado."
If I ever get to Oakland, I'll try looking you up, but I don't foresee it in the next few years; I doubt you'll ever make it to Pittsburgh, but if you were to, say, bike cross-country, you've got a place to stay and a fellow rider for a hundred or so miles.
Be well.
PS - One compliment - you look wonderful in that photo.
