Ideas for a name?
Remember how I told you that the universe will bring you a cat when you need one? I had just stepped out of my house this morning when my neighbor asked me if I could take a kitten. Yep, a two-handful grey and brown shorthair needs a home. I brought her home and set her up in my bedroom to think it over.
I have strict requirements for my cats. I like outgoing cats with a loud purr; I don’t like skittish cats or chatty cats. My girl cat sleeps high on my chest or shoulder or back, whichever is available to her. She and my missing cat both knew the sound of my car engine and would run out to greet me when I pulled up. I liked that part.
I’m not sure how my girl cat is going to take her new housemate. I’ve told her that I won’t love her less just because there is a newer, cuter, more adorable kitten in the house. I said that I have more than enough love for both of them, but for a while I’ll be giving it all to the kitten. I think she understands that younger, prettier kittens need homes too. When I asked her if the kitten could stay, her furious hissing and claws said ‘no’, but her eyes said ‘yes’.
I know y’all have been anxiously waiting for From The Archives to turn into a cat blog. I’ll be sure to describe every single cute thing the new kitten does.

An idea for a name:
You said that the universe will bring you a kitten when you need one. In Greek mythology, a Goddess of Fate is Moira (as distinct from the individual goddesses of fate, whose names are rather blah).
So I suggest Moira. How's that?
I see you are well on your way to becoming a crazy cat woman. I already know which action figure to get you for Christmas.
Not more of a crazy cat woman than I was last year. Besides, the universe is NOT going to send me another cat. The universe is going to send me a husband.
How come the strangers who read my blog are all helpful and nice and funny, and my friends just make fun of me?
I like old lady names...Mildred, Phyllis, Dinah, Francine, etc. Most can be shortened obviously... Millie, Frannie, Philly.
I've always been partial to "Pickles".
We just added a kitten to the mix a month ago. We went through the same hissing and spitting. It took about three days for Max to decide the kitten wasn't a terrible idea.
Of course, the kitten loves to leap off high surfaces and ride Max, so I'm not sure he's 100% on the new kitten.
I once dated a German guy, and one day he asked if I would like a burrito from Freebird's. I replied, "No thanks, their burritos are kind of mushie." He laughed. Seems, at least the part of Germany he was from, mushie, only they spell is muschi, is slang for pussy. I always thought that would be a great cat name. Unless you know a lot of Germans, then it could be weird.
My sister named her cat Snatch.
