robby reminds me of this one time when there was a joke telling contest at our pub. I tried to pass off a riddle:
"What's purple and commutes?"
"An Abelian grape!"
and walked off the stage laughing, fully knowing I had no chance to win, just laughing at myself for having come up with such an utterly obscure joke.
Nobody laughed but me, but some girl on the sidelines gasped "Oh my god, it's a math joke!"
