Remember
If you mention in your personal ad that you really like deep voices, the first time you talk to a dude, his voice is going to sound all constricted and self-conscious. Not his fault.

Well, so did he have a resonable voice? Doesn't seem like something you would be self conscious about... But then maybe he was busy being mesmerized by you, yes?

Just for the record, none of us thought this was you. Not for a second. (Cause it didn't allude to public policy, see.)
Many kudos for going out and getting what you want.
Hee.
You're looking in the wrong city, simoniac.

I've fallen for the ol' constricted-and-self-conscious gambit many times.

I posted a comment, decided it wasn't really fucking smart, and deleted it.
Strike me from the list!
The ad that Jacqueline linked to is well written and charming, except I find the line "Please be really fucking smart. I'll know" rather off-putting.
Well the cat disagrees. He tried to delete this post. But what does he know?
Nice ad.
How many scary smart people do you know?
Scary smart? A notch up from what I'm used to? Maybe two or three.
Hey wait, why is she looking in the wrong city? I thought it was the RIGHT city this time.
I think JMPP is saying that Simoniac searched the wrong city's CL ads for "deep voice".
Whether I am searching for men in the right city remains to be seen.
Oh, that's funny. I thought JMPP was talking to you, Megan, and telling you something like, "You're looking in the wrong city, Sherlock." Which would have been pessimistic but funny, and which made me wrack my brain for any reference to a historical genius/sleuth named Simoniac...
Hey, who's this David J. Baljan? Are you the David that's gonna be Megan's new boyfriend? Megan, he "hopes to see you." That's a good omen. :)
Oh my gosh oh my gosh that's funny.
BTW, I happen to have the same crew I've had since 1995 (which is freshman year in college, not high school, but close). And I think that's pretty good in a man. Even very desirable (because to me when a man has high school friends--or older--it shows his ability to be loyal and to work on friendships, and that he did not commit a murder since then). But there is another side to every coin, alas.
